Closer look: Rottler F10A CNC Boring Machine
A technician is only as good as his tools. At nFLOW, we have a number of in-house CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines for engine remanufacturing and rebuilding — absolutely state-of-the-art equipment.
These machines allow us to provide our customers with high-quality work both quickly and inexpensively.
First, let’s take a look at our Rottler F10A CNC Boring Machine.
Designed for both standard and large capacity machine work, it allows us to enlarge a hole that has already been drilled into an engine cylinder — either to fix a tapered hole, or alter the diameter of the hole with greater accuracy.
Rottler F10A Features
Rottler identifies five important areas in which the F10A outperforms its competitors:
✔️ Accuracy
All of Rottler’s FA models use a precision ground ball screw to help control cutter position and feed rate. This allows us to repeat cutter position accuracy up to .005mmm (.0002”).
✔️ Strength
The F10A has a large spindle size, which guarantees the best possible bore geometry at high spindle speeds. This is a large, rigid machine that can make heavy sleeve cuts.)
✔️ Flexibility
We can maximize the performance of this machine by using variable speed rates. For oversize bores, simply increase the spindle feed rate. For sleeve cuts or counter bores, we decrease the feed rate. The F10A allows us to bore from 38mm (1.5”) to 230mm (9”).
✔️ Speed
All FA Boring Bar models (including the F10A) uses the same, high-quality AC servo motor. We can change the feed rate from .025mm (.001”) to .3mm (.012”) per revolution, depending on what we need for each individual project.
✔️ Cost Savings
In this industry, we’re always looking for ways to cut costs without cutting corners.
The F10A can bore a block TWICE as quickly as other machines, resulting in faster turnaround times for our customers.
